Indian Tea Festival

March 1st to May 31st 2002
For three months from March 1st in the Thames Foyer, The Savoy, Strand, London, an Indian Tea Festival is taking place, between 3pm and 5.30pm. Sample some of India’s finest teas and, on this fascinating journey, learn about the intricacies of tea production in the world’s finest tea gardens, and the heritage of afternoon tea at The Savoy.
Enjoy afternoon tea to the sound of a resident pianist. The fine teas will also be accompanied by food from a specially created menu of Indian snacks designed by chefs from The Bombay Brasserie. The Journey has been created by the Tea Board of India in conjunction with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. There are also prizes of first class train tickets to exotic Darjeeling and Nilgiris with accommodation at various Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces.
